Synopsis:
After a series of failures crackpot inventor Caspar Otis creates a new helicopter design. He decides to test it himself and is willing to die if it is a failure. Superboy secretly helps Otis, who thinks the invention is a success. Greedy financier Barton Blount knows that Superboy helped, so he invites other crackpot inventors to come to Smallville.

Superboy is forced to help the other inventors too. When the failed inventions are believed to be successful, Barton sells stock to the residents of Smallville. Superboy is then forced to trick Barton into returning the ownership rights for the inventions back to the inventors. Superboy then admits he helped the inventors, but he shows them how the inventions can be re-purposed for other uses. By doing so, the failed inventions become successful.
