Synopsis:
Diana Prince, formerly Wonder Woman, summons the Justice League to deal with a super-strong marauder, who turns out to be J'onn J'onzz in disguise. His mental faculties restored, the Martian Manhunter relates previously unrevealed details of his origin.

The leader of one of the opposing forces in a Martian conflict, he had been captured and exiled by the enemy commander, named Blanx. In his first year of exile, he had been teleported to Earth, where he began his super-hero and JLA careers. Now, his exile ended, he had returned to Mars, to find that Blanx was intent on exterminating all life on his native world. The Justice League resolves to accompany their old comrade in his vendetta against Blanx.

Green Arrow saves the team when a blast of red-sun energy renders them unconscious on the edge of space; Green Lantern and Superman attempt to prevent the destruction of Mars, while the others battle Blanx's men aboard his ship. His planet's surface burnt to a cinder by an uncontrollable blue flame, J'onn J'onzz confronts his arch-enemy, and they duel to the death. He then follows his people into space, in search of a new home.
