Synopsis:
Terry Thirteen visits the town of Clayville where the residents have an unnatural fear of the number 13. The superstition began long ago when condemned man Jud Wilkins supposedly cursed the town. Many accidents have befallen victims over the years who challenged the superstition including Albert Black, a banker, who died.

Terry promises to investigate and places himself in danger on multiple occasions in defiance of the number 13. In each case an accident occurs, and he is nearly killed. Eventually Terry exposes Jonathan Hawley, Black's partner. Hawley murdered Black and buried him on 13th street. He used the curse to keep the town from developing on the street and discovering the body. He then arranged the accidents which befell Terry and the other townspeople to keep the legend alive.
