Synopsis:
Arani Caulder investigates the scene where the Doom Patrol was killed by Captain Zahl and Madame Rouge. She finds the remains of the Chief's wheelchair. She believes that if the wheelchair survived, the Chief must also be alive. Arani then contact Cliff Steele, Robotman, to present her evidence.
Cliff is living on a ranch in California. When Arani arrives, she takes down a government helicopter. The men inside were sent to watch Steele and Caulder by their former teammate Valentina Vostok who now works for a secret agency within the government. Arani convinces Cliff to join her.
Cliff then contacts Josh Clay, the Tempest. Josh has been running a medical practice under the false name Jonathan Carmichael. Cliff enlists Josh and the trio return to the coast where Arani found the wheelchair. Cliff dives into the water and finds the body of Rita Farr, Elasti-Girl. Before he can mourn her, Kalki, a former foe of Arani, attacks. Celsius is knocked out, and Robotman becomes Kalki's prey.
