Synopsis:
Captain Atom and Firestorm meet in the skies above the Louisiana bayou. Firestorm has been subverted by the Manhunters who have convinced him that he is their creation. Captain Atom attacks, but Firestorm is able to trap him in a containment sphere. Firestorm enters the sphere and allows Captain Atom to talk.

Captain Atom tells Firestorm a story about his childhood. The story leads Firestorm to begin trusting him. However, he then tells another tale which is part of his government cover story. Firestorm has been briefed on Captain Atom's true history and recognizes the story as a lie. Captain Atom is then forces to tell Firestorm the whole truth about his real past.

When Captain Atom explains that he has agreed to the government cover story, so that he can reconnect with his children, Firestorm believes him. The Nuclear Man releases Captain Atom and the two return to the Manhunter temple. The Suicide Squad detonates a bomb inside the temple. Firestorm and Captain Atom then contain the blast to prevent harm to anyone in the surrounding area. Firestorm converts many of the particles into snow. Captain Atom then agrees to help Firestorm with his training.
