Chester and a group of eco activists protest outside a Sunderland chemical plant. They block the driveway, so a truck driver runs them down. Wallace Monroe is killed, Chester is hospitalized with injuries, and the other protesters are arrested. Liz contacts Abby and Swamp Thing. He follows the trail of poison which the plant has dumped in the surrounding water system. He then destroys the plant and does his best to collect the poisons to protect and save what he can. When he returns home, he finds that some of his tubers who had sprouted into tiny children have died from the toxins.
