Synopsis:
Jim Corrigan begins investigating his own murder which preceded his recent resurrection in which his body was found in a storage locker. His memory is cloudy, but he senses a link between his death and a series of recent subway tunnel deaths. When he reaches the tunnel, he discovers a familiar red mist inside.

He returns to Madame Xanadu who triggers more memories including those of his last case. He was investigating the disappearance of Eric Zendiah for Gina Belmont. Gina and Jim had become attracted to one another. When Gina kissed Corrigan, a red mist exited her mouth and killed him. She then went to Madame Xanadu for advice and was told to seal the body in a vessel. Xanadu then had Jim's body placed in the storage locker.

Corrigan seeks out Gina beginning at her old address. He finds a sinkhole that leads to an underground subway tunnel. Jim sees the red mist again, and is nearly hit by a subway train while trying to escape it.
