This story is continued from New Guardians #10 and continues in New Guardians #12.

Synopsis:
Terga Kalmaku has a dream in which she sees that her husband is still alive. Janwillem Kroef tries to get confirmation of Kalmaku's death only to discover that his nemesis is still alive. Kroef visits the pit containing his mutant men which were to kill Tom. Inside he finds that Tom has gained powers, and the mutants now follow him. Kroef tries to kill Tom again, but Kalmaku flies away. Kroef also discovers powers of his own which can induce men to act against one another in hate.

The New Guardians do not believe Terga's dream. They think Tom is dead. They track down and head for Kroef's island base with Kilowog. When they arrive Kroef turns his new power against them. They fight one another, knock out Kilowog, then succumb to the hate and become followers of Kroef.
