Synopsis:
Gunnda is crowned Queen of the Festivals. Jon asks to dance with her, but he is challenged by Toke the Red-Bearded. To resolve the dispute, the two vikings compete in a series of three contests.

During the first contest, to retrieve a rare egg, Toke knocks Jon off a cliff and wins the challenge. Jon suspects the attack was intentional. During the next challenge, Toke again tries to kill Jon and make it appear to be an accident. Jon escapes danger and outwits Toke to win the round.

For the final challenge, Jon and Toke are tied with ropes to a pole. The object is to swing around the pole and cut the competitor's rope. Instead Toke aims at Jon's body. Expecting the attack, Jon is able to avoid the blow and cut Toke's rope. Jon wins the challenge and earns a dance with Gunnda.
