This story contains a flashback in which a bat crashes through Bruce's window, inspiring him to become Batman.

Synopsis:
Batman is unable to get evidence against crime boss John Marstin. He begins a campaign to frighten Marstin and his men using the bat symbol. Every time the crooks commit a crime they see the symbol. Spooked, the crooks retrieve the loot they've already stolen. Batman and Robin then move in and catch the thieves with the stolen goods as evidence.
