Synopsis:
Sylvester Pemberton witnesses a strange vortex open in the sky and destroy a newly constructed housing project. Sylvester's father is injured in the destruction. Sylvester decides to investigate, suspecting the vortex might not be a natural phenomenon. Professor Stanton, secretly Dr. Weerd, summons men to kidnap the kid to stop the investigation. Slyvester summons Stripesy for help, then they pursue Dr. Weerd.

The Star-Spangled Kid and Stripesy discover that Dr. Weerd has a machine that is capable of creating vortexes. When Dr. Weerd strikes at another building, the Star-Spangled Duo defeat him. Weerd vows to escape his jail cell, while Sylvester's dad makes his recovery.
