Synopsis:
Explorer Tom Beckett watches his adoptive father "Grey Mike" Riggs executed as a killer. Beckett blames Batman for his father's capture. When Beckett learns that he is dying of a tropical disease, he seeks to kill Batman in a suicidal attack.

Beckett makes several attempts to kill Batman, but Batman saves both of them each time, unaware that Beckett is actually trying to kill himself and the Caped Crusader. When an accident traps them both underground, Batman learns the truth. Batman manages to escape, and Beckett is sent to a psychiatric ward.

Beckett escapes and once again tries to kill Batman in a suicide attack. He turns himself into a human bomb, planning to take Batman with him. Batman defuses the bomb and apprehends Beckett. He also discovers a cure for Beckett's fatal disease. Beckett reforms and thanks Batman for curing him.
