First appearance of the Whirly-Bats.

Synopsis:
A strange costumed criminal named Karko appears in Gotham City stealing objects of apparently little value using fabulous machines. Batman and Robin pursue the crook in their new Whirly-Bats, single-man helicopters. The crook's weapons prove superior, and he is able to completely disappear.

Batman is able to track Karko to a former army air base. When he arrives, the crook is battling an oddly dressed policeman. Batman deduces that both men are from the future. Though Karko escapes, Batman captures his time machine device. Karko demands that the device be returned or he will expose Batman's identity. Inspector Mahan, the future policeman, gives Karko another time device that will cause him to appear at a police station in the future. Mahan then uses Karko's device to return the stolen items.
