Comments:
Sgt. Rock is said to be an orphan with no family in this story. Later stories do reveal that Rock has living siblings.

Synopsis:
The members of Easy Company believe that Sgt. Rock has no family, so he takes extra risks. Though Rock is an orphan, he recalls an older French couple he rescued and took him as their son. He also recalls helping a French woman who made Rock the godfather of her child. Rock then witnesses Mademoiselle Marie destroy a Nazi gunboat. He helps to save her from the Germans, earning himself a girlfriend in the process.
