Synopsis:
Jimmy Olsen becomes a house guest at Clark Kent's apartment while his own apartment is being repaired. Jimmy then begins snubbing Superman and grows closer to Clark. Clark is concerned because it is harder to slip away when emergencies arise.

News of the broken friendship between Superman and Jimmy reaches Safety Stone, a crime boss who planned to kidnap Jimmy to protect himself from Superman. He changes his plan and robs a diamond vault without kidnapping Jimmy. Jimmy is on the scene, because he overheard the crooks plan. He tries to summon Superman, but his signal watch is broken. Superman arrives anyway, having overheard Jimmy talking about the crooks in his sleep. Jimmy then explains that he broke off the friendship as part of a plan to stop the crooks.
