Synopsis:
Shayera Thal joins the Chicago police force and grows close to officer Verzell Jones. Katar tours the museum with Mavis, and is exposed to the idea of freedom. He has a conversation with columnist Mike Chernak about the contrast of ideals and reality in America. He records these ideas and principles in his diary, which Shayera reads as part of her mission to spy on him.

Meanwhile, Byth takes over a Japanese corporation.
