Comments:
This story takes place on May 3rd, 1990 and continues in Captain Atom #42.

Synopsis:
After a failed encounter with Catherine Cobert on his birthday, Captain Atom struggles to make peace with the memory of his wife Angela. With the help of Red Tornado and Silver Shield, Captain Atom enters a part of the quantum field where he is reunited with Angela. When he gets in too deep, Red Tornado tries to pull him out, but Atom refuses to go. He is met by the Black Racer, and back in the real world he dies.
