Synopsis:
In the midst of their private lives, the Justice League members are teleported through time and space to the planet Erislane, where they are enlisted in a struggle to save the entire universe. While the life-force of an alien universe dies out, the scientists of the planet Skarn steal the life-force from a neighboring universe in order to survive. Over the eons, they have done this many times, challenging the champions of the various universes they victimized to battle robot duplicates of themselves – battles which the robots have always won. Now, as the life-force of the universe containing Earth and Erislane is about to be stolen, the League is called in.

Because Skarn is a waterless world, there is no duplicate of Aquaman, so he acts as coach. Although the robots are supposedly nothing more than the exact equals of their counterparts, they prove to be the masters of the originals until Aquaman’s coaching provides the impetus needed for the League to win. Superman discovers that special transmitters in the robots convert the sound energy of the cheering Skarn crowd into power for the robots, thus insuring their victory.

When the Skarnians attempt to renege on their agreement to spare the JLA’s universe, the heroes locate their hidden life-force-stealing apparatus, and destroy it. Then they are returned to Earth mere moments after their departure.
