Synopsis:
The Unknown Soldier is stationed in Iran just prior to the fall of the Shah. He is given the mission to escort an Iranian military official out of the country. While awaiting transport, the Unknown Soldier in the guise of a student named Jack and the official, whom he calls Fred, take refuge in a movie theatre. Jack falls asleep.
The Unknown Soldier recalls the explosion during World War II which caused his disfigurement. It also caused him to forget his real name. Before he could be taken out of the army hospital, it was captured by the Japanese. He was taken prisoner and subjected to experiments. The drugs used on him gave him increased regenerative abilities and strength. He was eventually liberated from the Japanese, but when the American soldiers arrived, they shot him.
Jack awakens in the theatre as students and Iranian authorities close in on him and Fred. Jack carries Fred out of the theatre and across rooftops to the helicopter which carries them to safety. A woman and her child are run down by their pursuers. After the mission is complete, the Unknown Soldier submits his resignation from the military.
