Synopsis:
A police investigation begins after a man believed to be Clark Kent is found in Clark's apartment. Amanda McCoy is the only person who knows this man was actually private investigator Matthew Stockton. Intergang was responsible for the murder.

When word of Clark's supposed death reaches Lex Luthor, he orders the killers found. He owes Clark for saving his life from Max Carter weeks earlier. Luthor also sends Jose Delgado, now under his complete control, to the lab of Professor Hamilton. The professor has been using technology that he created while working for LexCorp. Hamilton stops Delgado using a magnetic field. He then broadcasts a conversation with Luthor on live television. Luthor is forced to break off the attack and release Delgado to save face.

Meanwhile in Smallville, reporters call the Kent farm. Jonathan tells Toby Raynes of the Daily Star that Clark is still alive and is in Smallville. He is actually still in deep space. Superman, in exile, has teleported himself into a giant space creature. After nearly being digested by the creature, Superman activates his teleporter again to escape.
