Synopsis:
Using his follower General Tolliver, Ares plans to start a nuclear war. Wonder Woman and her allies including Steve Trevor fight Tolliver for control of his captured nuclear facility. Tolliver reaches the control room first and begins the launch sequence. Steve shoots him, but Ares gives Tolliver the power to rise from the dead and continue his mission.
While Steve is fighting Tolliver, Wonder Woman faces Ares himself after being transported to the netherworld. Wonder Woman is hopelessly overmatched by the god's power, but she continues to fight. When she uses her magic lasso against Ares, its power of truth forces the war god to see the world his plan would create. All life would be destroyed, and his own power would be lost.
Ares decides to discontinue his plan for nuclear war and causes his followers to stand down. He then abandons the Earth, charging Diana with the mission to teach mankind and prevent their self-destruction.
Back at the missile base, Steve watches the nuclear launch fail due to Ares's power. He then meets up with General Hillary, who has regained control of the facility. Wonder Woman's other friends are injured, but alive with the exception of Matthew Michaelis who was killed protecting the others.
