Synopsis:
Three animal-headed humanoids wake after 12,000 years, to recover a disc housed in the Midway City Museum which they intend to use to restore Earth to its orbit of 10,000 B.C. Despite Hawkman’s intervention they do so, and thus cause the planet to leave its present orbit.

The radiation residue they leave in the museum allows Hawkman and Hawkgirl to trail them to the ancient Trans-Jordan city of Petra, where the humanoids activated the orbitron. This machine will make the change in orbit permanent after one day of operation; this they believe will change Earth’s topography enough to uncover their ancient city of Lansinar, now buried under the ice in the Arctic. Awakened from their sleep by prior plan, the trio is now charged with the task of restoring their city’s dominance over Earth, which had been halted when a wandering planet passed by (12,000 years ago), which changed the orbit by shifting the poles.

Hawkman and Hawkgirl battle the three in planes over Petra, and capture the humanoids after putting their crafts out of commission. The villains refuse to communicate until hearing a signal that the day has passed, and then reveal their plans. They have miscalculated, however; Earth’s day is now six hours longer than in their time, and the winged crimefighters easily turn off the machine. Then they turn them over to the United Nations for determination of their fate and that of their city.
