Part 2: "Return of the Animal-Vegetable-Mineral Man"
Part 3: "Deadline for the Doom Patrol"

Elasti-Girl and Negative Man exchange powers in this story (Elasti-Girl called Negative Girl) and are restored to normal, and the Chief uses a robotic body to become a replacement for Robotman in this story.

Elasti-Girl is revealed to be dying prematurely due to her powers in this story.

Synopsis:
The Chief attempts to cure Elasti-Girl and Negative Man simultaneously of their "freak" states - a cure none of the team really desires since it will mean the end of the Doom Patrol. It is Robotman who disrupts the experiment, causing an explosion that disables him and causes Rita and Larry to exchange powers.

When the Animal-Mineral-Vegetable Man returns to menace them, the Doom Patrol is forced into action with their usual roles reversed. Rita becomes an uncontrollable "Negative Girl," and Larry is able to change size. The Chief inhabits a robotic shell, whose mechanical legs enable him to stand and walk, while Robotman, still incapacitated, becomes an immobile observer. The teammates are able to gain control over their new abilities in time to immobilize the A-V-M Man once more with the Chief's special ray.

The Chief then reverses the effects of his experiment, returning Elasti-Girl's and Negative Man's original powers just before they would have succumbed to deadly side-effects of the process.
