Comments:
This story reveals the post-Crisis origin of the Shining Knight. The All-Star Squadron does not appear as this story takes place before the team was founded.

The framing sequence of the story, detailing Justin's arrival in modern times, takes place circa June, 1941. The flashback (pages 3-12 – circa 6th century A.D.) shows Sir Justin frozen in ice during his battle with Blunderbore.

This story is an adaptation of the second story of Adventure Comics #66.

At the conclusion of the story four All-Star Squadron members are pictured as future teammates of the Shining Knight. Green Arrow is included among them, but in post-Crisis continuity, there was no Golden Age Green Arrow. His depiction here is erroneous.

Synopsis:
Sir Justin, a new knight in the sixth century court of King Arthur, is given the task of killing Blunderbore, an ogre responsible for the death of Sir Fallon. During his journey to find the ogre, Sir Justin releases Merlin from a spell that had imprisoned him. Merlin rewards Justin by enchanting his armor, sword, and steed. Merlin also possesses knowledge that Justin will soon find himself in the 20th century.

Sir Justin continues his quest mounted upon his newly winged horse, Victory. He fights Blunderbore in the icy north, but falls from a cliff after delivering the fatal blow to his opponent. Sir Justin and Victory become frozen in the ice, kept preserved in suspended animation.

Centuries later Dr. Moresby, a museum curator, discovers Sir Justin inside an iceberg floating off the New England shore. He frees the knight and brings him to his museum in New York. Justin is amazed by the advances present in the 1941 museum. He takes a job as Moresby's assistant, calling himself Justin Arthur.

When crooks rob the museum, Justin dons his magical armor, which Merlin has made bulletproof, and pursues them mounted on Winged Victory. Sir Justin captures the crooks, beginning his career as the Shining Knight.
