Synopsis:
Enemy Ace and his squadron return from patrol. An orphaned puppy has strayed onto the air field during their landing. The puppy is nearly killed, but he survives with only a wound to his leg. Von Hammer takes the puppy and bandages the wounded leg. He names it Schatzi and keeps him as a good luck charm.

During his next mission against the British, Von Hammer carries the puppy in his cockpit. The British lead the German airmen into a trap, but the Rittmeister's flying is able to keep them alive. He then leads the British planes into their own battleship. He credits Schatzi for their amazing luck.

When he returns home, Von Hammer introduces Schatzi to his lone wolf friend. He then goes out on another mission for a strike into France. When they meets a squadron of British planes, Schatzi warns his master of a plane attacking from behind. Enemy Ace climbs and rolls his plane. As a result, Schatzi falls out of the open cockpit. Distraught over the loss of his puppy, Enemy Ace finishes off the British planes, then lands in the field. He finds the body of his friend and buries Schatzi.
