Synopsis:
Marine lieutenant Larry Rock was stationed at Corregidor in the Philippines when the Japanese attacked. Rock was hit in the head with shrapnel just before the outpost was forced to surrender. Rock and his friend Sgt. Lennie are able to make their way past an enemy patrol and escape the island. They are then picked up by Captain Storm.

Though his injury should be cause for Rock to be sent home, he conceals the extent of the injury from everyone except Lennie. The two marines then join up with another unit based in Australia. Now whenever Rock is under pressure, his head wound flares up causing him to see red. Despite his condition Rock fights on in order to make a beachhead on an enemy occupied island. Rock then continues to carry on the family name like his brother Sgt. Rock of Easy Company.
