Synopsis:
Hal Jordan and Arisia are shared an apartment with John Stewart and Katma Tui. Hal has been unable to find a job. John, eager to get Hal out of his apartment, suggests that Hal use his power ring to obtain diamonds from an abandoned South African mine. Though he struggles with the possibly illegal nature of this action, Hal proceeds to South Africa and takes a diamond. When he returns to the apartment after selling the diamond he finds John crying. While Hal was out, Star Sapphire broke into the apartment and murdered Katma Tui.
