Synopsis:
Sgt. Rock leads a group of four new soldiers on patrol. When they encounter an enemy gun emplacement, the rookies don't immediately take cover. Rock believes they are dead, so he charges the enemy and eliminates the bunker. He then laments the fate of the dead men and wishes that the war was over.

In the haze, Rock thinks he sees a soldier. The man shows Rock a vision of war throughout history. Rock realizes that this war is necessary to defeat Hitler's evil. Rock then regains his senses and discovers that the rookie soldiers are still alive.
