Synopsis:
Superman saves the life of a boxer who is trying to committ suicide. The boxer is Larry Trent, ex-heavyweight champion. Larry explains how he was set up to lose and is now down-and-out. Superman vows to replace Larry and help him regain his title.

Disguised as Trent, Superman wins several amateur bouts which earn him an appointment with crooked fight promoter, Jock Kane. Kane sets up a bout between Trent and Slugger Barnes. Superman makes Barnes look bad and begins his road to the title. Along the way, Superman spars with the real Trent in order to get him back into shape.

Trent’s old manager, Tom Croy, tries to set Trent up again by drugging him during a title bout. The real Trent is ready to fight, so Superman lets him fight the title bout while he handles Croy and some racketeers. Trent wins back his title and his confidence.
