Synopsis:
Before Krypton's destruction, Kara's father Zor-El constructed a rocket large enough to hold his entire family. The escape Krypton's doom in the rocket, while Jor-El and his family survive in the domed Argo City. Zor-El and his family land on Earth and become Smallville farmers. Accidental exposure to Gold Kryptonite removes the super-powers of Zor-El and his wife, but Kara retains her powers and becomes Supergirl.

Supergirl eventually grows into Superwoman. She leaves Smallville when her parents die and starts a detective agency as Carole Zorelle. When Kryptonite threatens Argo City, Jor-El sends his young son Kal-El to Earth to join his cousin. Superwoman sets Kal up with a secret identity as Cal Ellis and leaves him at the Midvale Orphanage.

As Superboy, Kal-El is trained by Superwoman in secret. However, the Boy of Steel uses his powers recklessly earning the admonishment of his cousin. Jealous of his cousin, Superboy fakes exposure to Gold Kryptonite to convince Superwoman that he has lost his powers forever.
