Synopsis:
Hal Jordan is summoned by fellow Green Lantern Tomar-Re to battle an evil changeling. The changeling was found on an uninhabited world devastated by a nuclear holocaust. The creature was the ability to assume any form. When it assumes a living form, it causes the original to fall into a coma. Tomar-Re has followed the creature to Earth.

When Hal and Tomar-Re track down the creature, they find it is immune to their power rings, because they must first learn the creature's true form. Hal eventually tricks the changeling by forcing it to assume the form of a power-ring created tiger. During the change, Hal causes the tiger to disappear. This causes the changeling to be stuck between forms as a nuclear explosion cloud, which is the creature's true form. Tomar-Re congratulates Hal, then returns the creature in stasis to the dead planet from which it came.
