This story is entirely a flashback to Robotman's origin, which is retold in detail.

Synopsis:
In this retelling of Robotman's origin, Cliff Steele is the victim of a racing-car crash which destroys his entire body except his brain. Dr. Niles Caulder saves his life by transplanting his brain into a robot body, but the revived Robotman, driven temporarily insane by his fate, goes berserk and wreaks havoc throughout the city, seeking revenge on the unknown surgeon who "saved" him.
