Synopsis:
The Doom Patrol return home following the defeat of the alien invasion force. They mourn the loss of their teammate Arani. They also discover that the city, which once hated them, now celebrates them as heroes. Scott also reveals his illness to Lodestone.

Meanwhile, Garguax seizes the opportunity to stage his own invasion by attacking the Doom Patrol with the Sirens. During the battle, the team's headquarters is destroyed. Larry Trainor is injured in a helicopter crash, and Negative Woman loses her powers. The invasion is thwarted when the Chief directs a satellite to fire a laser which destroys Garguax's ship.

At the conclusion of Arani's funeral, the Doom Patrol witness an explosion of black light in the sky.
