Synopsis:
Lois meets Barney Vellum, a bookbinder who uses special materials to bind his books. Three men at Barney's club have insulted him, so he makes a deal with Lois to get rare materials to make three book bindings.

Lois requests Superman's help, explaining that the proceeds will go to charity. Superman retrieves a bracelet from Atlantis, the bone of an extinct animal, and some neutronium from a distance sun. The objects are then made into bindings for Vellum's books.

Lois then wants to make Superman's cape into a binding for her Superman scrapbook. She gets the cape from him, but finds that it is indestructible. Lois gives Superman an ordinary cape in return. He discovers it is a fake, so Lois explains her plan. Superman is pleased with the scrapbook, so he tells Lois he will make another cape.
