Synopsis:
Clark and Lois drive through the town of Brentville and discover everyone has been put to sleep. Lois also falls asleep, causing Clark to call the police for help. When the police arrive they also fall asleep. Clark uses a gas mask to move around town, and gives one to Lois also, which revives her.
They find a bank robbery in progress conducted by some crooks in gas masks. More police arrive wearing gas masks. They take the robbers, along with Lois and Clark into custody. The police don’t believe that the reporters were not associated with the gang, so they are locked up.
Clark escapes as Superman and traces the malady to a gas invented by Professor Hunter. He has been kidnapped by some spies led by Baron Munsdorf. After killing his associates, Munsdorf tries to kill Superman with a death-ray, but is instead killed himself. Professor Hunter explains everything to the authorities, which results in the release of Lois and Clark.
