Synopsis:
Clark Kent investigates a newspaper ad asking for Superman’s assistance from wealthy industrialist, Rufus Carnahan. Carnahan explains that he is dying and wants Superman to turn his son around because the boy has a gambling problem. Superman agrees to help and learns that Peter is in debt to loan shark, Jake Brent.

Carnahan dies and leaves his money to Peter provided the boy does not gamble. Brent threatens to expose Peter’s vice if he does not pay him off. Brent is then shot, Peter is seen with a discharged gun, and he flees. Superman tracks him down, and the police arrest him.

Although he claims his innocence, Peter is sent to trial and convicted. Superman, meanwhile, has gathered evidence that Brent’s rival Benny Farrel was the murderer. The Man of Steel prevents Peter’s execution and forces a confession from Farrel. Peter does not receive his inheritance, but it is used to help under-privileged boys.
