Synopsis:
Iris West’s father, Professor West, is in town and wants to meet Barry. Upon arriving the absent-minded man wants to know Barry’s intentions to his daughter. Before Barry can explain, both men are grabbed by some hoods.

The hoods work for Frank Enwood, a criminal scientist. He has designed a device to crack a bank vault, but the device is malfunctioning. The professor is forced to repair the device.

While the crooks are robbing the bank, Barry and Prof. West are locked in a dark room. Barry uses his powers to escape and capture the crooks, but he fears that the professor will know his secret identity. He is not exposed because the professor was too near-sighted to notice Barry at all. Later, Barry and Iris explain their friendship to the professor.
