Synopsis:
Alfred tries to return a package to a woman from the district attorney's office, but she refuses to take it back. Alfred takes the package to Bruce Wayne, who opens it and deciphers a coded message inside. The message indicates that Sam Caldwin, a banker, is scheduled to be arrested.

Batman visits Caldwin, only to discover the man is an embezzler. A gang of crooks helps smuggle Caldwin out of the country. Batman is delayed and fails to stop them. Commissioner Gordon tells Batman that the gang has been in operation for some time.

To smoke out the crooks, Bruce Wayne pretends to be an embezzler too. The crooks approach him and try to smuggle him out of the country. On board a ship, they double-cross Bruce and throw him in the ocean. Robin rescues him. Then Batman and Robin apprehend the gang.
