Synopsis:
Jon and Captain Olaf command a fishing boat that ventures into new waters. The ship encounters a fire troll and is destroyed. When the crew return to shore, the villagers will not return to sea again fearing the fire troll.

The Viking Prince does not believe that the fire troll is real. He challenges the bravest villagers to join him on another voyage, but they refuse. He tries to prove his worth in combat against Red Orm, an outspoken villager who consels them to remain on shore. Jon wins the fight, then decides to challenge the fire troll alone.

Jon sails to the location where the ship encountered the troll. This time he has used iron on his ship to protect it from the flames. With the boat protected, Jon is able to sail close enough to discover that the troll is really just an underground volcano spitting flame into the air. Jon destroys the chimney-like protrusion spouting the flame, making the area safe again for other ships.
