Synopsis:
Automan is hired by Doc Barton, the sole inhabitant of Loon Island, to track down a ten-foot tall mutant that has recently arrived on the island. Automan chases the Mutant-Man across the island. The creature is powerful and smart which makes the hunt challenging. Eventually, Automan captures the creature whose identity he has correctly deduces is Doc Barton.
The biologist developed a device which changed him into a mutant. He wished to test himself against Automan. When the pair return to Barton's lab, they discover the device has been stolen. Barton is unable to change back to human form without it. Remaining in mutant form for a prolonged time could kill Barton. Automan quickly finds and captures the thief, Holdup Hogan. He restores the doctor to normal. Barton decides the device is too dangerous, so he destroys it.
