Synopsis:
Perry White instructs Lois to track down the writer whose work has been appearing in the Black Beacon to offer him a job at the Daily Planet. Lois visits an area of Metropolis known as Little Africa. She discovers that the writer is Dave Stevens, a man to which she once provided a blood transfusion.

Dave is embroiled in a protest at a construction site in the community. The organizers want low-cost housing built instead of expensive office space. The 100 has planted men on both sides of the conflict. These men start a riot. The Thorn helps to stop the violence. Superman then arrives. He finishes construction on the building himself which includes both office space and apartments.

Later the 100, under the guise of an organization known as America-Awake, starts a campaign of tricks to discredit the residents. Lois, the Thorn, and Dave all take action to stop the crime organization. Dave then accepts the offer to join the staff at the Daily Planet.
