Synopsis:
Adam Blake responds to a newspaper ad for men of his size. He is then measured by Zdrin, a scientist who claims he can grant Blake Captain Comet's powers. Adam consents to the experiment despite the fact that he already has super powers. When Zdrin's device seemingly fails, Comet dismisses the scientist as a fraud.

However, Zdrin's device was not intended to give Adam Blake powers. Instead it created an evil twin that posseses all of Comet's powers. Zdrin then sends the imposter to steal the Cometeer. Captain Comet interrupts his duplicate and both board the ship enroute to the Planet of Death. The evil twin perishes quickly on the alien world, but the real Captain Comet survives.

Captain Comet returns to Earth and confronts Zdrin. He explains that a wristband made from an alien metal which the scientist placed on him during the duplication process protected him on the alien world. Zdrin then leaves Earth and reports back to his masters who decide to avoid Captain Comet in the future.
