This story takes place out of sequence. The introduction of Manny Bucks in this story indicates that it takes place prior to his first appearance in the second story of Flash Comics #16.

Synopsis:
Johnny is hired by the wealthy Manny Bucks to act as a bodyguard. Bucks owns a racehorse named Slim King which is stolen by crooks. Johnny stops the robbery and rescues Slim King. He then rides the horse in the Welldone Stakes. Bucks's rival Jack Crane drugs the horse, but Johnny's Thunderbolt ensures victory anyway.
