Synopsis:
Adam Strange returns to a seemingly peaceful planet Rann and attends a olympic-style competition. During the games, Alanna is abducted by a giant tentacle from space. Adam rescues Alanna and learns the tentacle originated from a living world named Yggardis. The living planet explains that it is lonely and wants life on its surface. Since life can only exist there for 24 hours, it must abduct life forms from other worlds.

Adam and Alanna land on Yggardis's sruface and attempt to find a way to defeat it. Adam discovers that the reason life cannot exist is that Yggardis's mind radiation is deadly to life. He offers to help the living world by operating on it, separating mind from body. He successfully divides the planet, so that life can grow on the body portion, while the mind continues nearby. The planet is then sent to a remote corner of space, while Adam returns to Earth.
