Synopsis:
While charging his power ring, Green Lantern receives a message from Mrs. Wilford Bigelow via his ring. Somehow Mrs. Bigelow’s phone has tapped into the ring. She is calling the Association for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals to report a horse owner who will not give his horse any water. Each day she puts water in the bird bath in front of the Torrence Ave. Bank, and for the last few days a thirsty horse from a horse-and-buggy has drank out of it. Wanting to uphold his good name, GL promises to look into the matter.

Just before Green Lantern arrives on the scene, the bank is held up. The hold up men have fooled the police by escaping in the unassuming buggy parked outside. Unable to spot the robbers when he arrives, Green Lantern agrees to speak to the buggy driver about the horse. The crooks are worried but manage to fool GL.

Suddenly, the police race by which startles the horse. It runs off and causes the buggy to crash. The crooks hiding in the buggy are revealed and begin firing on GL. He experiences a momentary surprise and is unable to defend himself with the power ring. Fortunately the ring acts on its own to protect him from harm. The thieves hide in a yellow barn. Unable to penetrate the barn’s yellow exterior, GL diverts a small stream to wash out the barn.

Green Lantern turns the criminals over to the police and then investigates the strange occurance with Mrs. Bigelow’s phone. Somehow dialing the wrong number on her phone tuned it to the ring’s frequency and established the contact. GL breaks the connection to ensure it never happens again.
