Synopsis:
Carol Ferris is compelled by an intolerable urge to leave her office and drive to the police "odd lots room". In the room she finds the star sapphire jewel, and it transforms her into Star Sapphire. Using her powers she spies on Green Lantern and learns he is pursuing the Copter Gang.

Determined to defeat Green Lantern, this time at his own game, Sapphire approaches the Copter Gang. She uses her power to defeat their helicopter and take them prisoner. When Green Lantern arrives, he is surprised that Sapphire, his enemy, would now be helping him. He also learns from the police chief that Sapphire’s previous crimes were not crimes at all. She is not wanted by the police.

An emergency arises when alien marauders attack the Ferris Plant. Sapphire and GL fly off to confront the menace. Green Lantern is unable to stop the creatures, as they strangely exist a few second into the future. Star Sapphire steps in and defeats the creatures herself, not revealing to GL that she had created them.

Having defeated Green Lantern, Sapphire wants GL to marry her. Lantern agrees only if Sapphire can unmask him. Unable to do so with her bare hands, Sapphire bides her time until GL needs to recharge his ring. Then she steps in and combines her power with that of the lantern. The combined force is enough to unmask Green Lantern.

Intending to uphold his promise of marriage, Green Lantern removes Sapphire’s mask. Upon seeing Carol’s face he blurts out her name. The vocalization of her true name reverts Sapphire to her Carol Ferris form without any memory of the experience. GL pulls the story from her unconscious mind. He is freed from his proposal to Star Sapphire temporarily, but if Sapphire returns he plans to keep his promise.
