Synopsis:
Jimmy Olsen will be awarded a gift from Perry White when he delivers his next scoop, his 1000th. Jimmy learns about a sea monster and writes up the story for the Planet, however Superman intervenes and makes Jimmy believe the monster was a hoax. Jimmy is embarassed by his error but tries again.
Superman continues to secretly foil Jimmy from gaining a scoop. Jimmy is surprised that Perry is forgiving of his mistakes, until he realizes that Perry is an imposter. Jimmy confronts the phony who is revealed to be an alien invader. Superman arrives to stop the invader and explains that he used Jimmy to learn the alien’s plans. With the alien exposed, Superman destroys a bomb planted by the invader and delivers Jimmy his scoop.
