Synopsis:
Captain Cold walks the streets of Central City with his cold-gun. He uses the weapon to freeze a building and everything inside. With everything frozen, Cold cracks the vault using a hammer which shatters the vault door.

Barry Allen is alerted to the trouble in his police lab. He rushes to the scene as the Flash. Captain Cold uses his cold gun on his foe but the vibrations of the swift moving Flash overcome the blasts. However, Cold freezes the ground underneath his opponent. The slippery footing slows down Flash and allows Cold to escape.

Captain Cold is really, Len Snart, an ambitious criminal. Snart’s weapon was created while he was attempting to construct a weapon to stop the Flash. He planned to use a cyclotron to irradiate a specially built gun. However the experiment instead gave the weapon the property to freeze object with ice.

After his successful robbery, Cold further experiments with his new weapon. It seems that when using liquid helium with the gun, he can create cold-induced hallucinations.

Luring his opponent to a nearby lake, Cold uses the newly configured device to confuse his opponent with illusions. However, the Flash is able to think his way past the illusions and capture Captain Cold.
