The Blue Beetle wears a blue business suit with a hat and a white mask in this story. He also uses a wireless phone of his own invention which long predates the cellular phone.

Synopsis:
Police officer Dan Garret witnesses banker, Mr. Vander, being thrown from a car. Vander dies, while his secretary and daughter remain in the hands of his kidnappers. Dan traces the car which held the banker to a garage. He dons a mask and enters as the Blue Beetle.

The crooks are torturing the girl, trying to learn the bank vault combination. The Blue Beetle claims to have the combination and offers it to the crooks for a percentage of the robbery. However, he double-crosses the gang and leads them into a trap. Once apprehended, the ring-leader is unmasked as Vander's secretary John Brandes.
