Synopsis:
A new menace arises from the Idol-Head of Diabolu. The menace, a color ring creature, steals the color from several objects. J'onn J'onzz decides to learn the creature's motives by using himself as bait. The creature then absorbs him and carries him to another dimension.

In the alternate world, J'onn is devoid of color. He meets a race of beings utilizing the ring creature to steal color. The colors give the creatures special powers.

Zook follows Manhunter by allowing himself to be taken inside the color creature. He arrives in time to rescue J'onn from a fire. J'onn then reverses the color-stealing machine. He and Zook return to Earth, and the color creature is destroyed.
